At the initiative of father Bogdan Velyanyk, rector of the Saint-Sernin basilica, I had the opportunity of presenting a series of works inspired by passages of the Holy Scriptures.

Having done a lot of abstract work before that, I wanted to use that experience in order to add another dimension to the representation of biblical scenes. We believe in God, maker of all things visible and invisible, but do we not often find ourselves reciting that creed without considering the amazing magnitude of invisible realities ? My ambition was therefore this one : attempt to render visible the invisible dimension and ally it to the figurative representation that we are used to. The angels in particular are not painted under human appearance, for they do not have bodies, but in an abstract way : as pure spirits, light.

Through this alliance of styles are also united the great artistic christian tradition and a contemporary aesthetic, in hopes to show that the codes of our time can also serve the search for Beauty and be not a rupture, but a continuity of the history of sacred art.
